Most often we tend to try some treatment at home before consulting a physician.

White bumps around the eyes, are associated with small infections called as a stye. They are usually caused due to a bacterial infection that affects the hair follicle of the eyelash. The easy way to treat this is to do ‘hot fermentation’.

Follow these steps:

  • Dip a clean towel in hot water and wring it dry such that it is not dripping wet.
  • When the towel is warm enough to touch, place it over the eyes and wait for it to cool down.
  • Repeat the process a few times.

This treatment helps in increasing the blood flow to the infected area such that the body’s immunity takes action over it. This also helps the white bubble or stye to pop such that the pus gets discharged and the infection gets solved. If you do not find any improvement in the condition with this technique or the white bump remains painless then you might be having a condition called median or chalazion.

Rather than just self-treating this condition, it is always advisable to consult an ophthalmologist or dermatologist to get the infection completely cured.
