Salicylic Acid peel

Salicylic Acid peelSalicylic Acid Peel is a chemical peel in which Salicylic Acid is the main component. Salicylic Acid is a beta hydroxy acid and is derived from the bark of the willow tree.

Salicylic Acid Peel is found to be very effective in the control and treatment of black heads and oiliness of the skin, following which the skin looks grease-free and shine-free.

The first step of the treatment starts with the skin cleansed with a soap free cleanser. The Salicylic Acid is then applied to the skin. The peeling agent is then left for 5-10 minutes and neutralized thereafter. During the procedure, most patients experience mild warmth or mild stinging sensation that will remain for few hours to a day only. A post peel balm and sunscreen are then applied. The post care maintenance is simple and includes the application of PH balanced face wash and sunscreen as recommended by the dermatologist.

FAQ

Salicylic is generally recommended for oily skin and acne or pimple prone skin. It helps in the treatment of pimples and help open up black heads. It is also used to remove excess oil accumulation in the skin and give your skin a rough look.
The treatment involving Salicylic Acid peel is a mild one and may not deliver results immediately. You may need to undergo a series of sessions on a fortnightly basis to see good results. The results become more evident after the third session but changes in the skin will be visible after the first session itself.
